Laura and Jacob visited us at MECCA George Street to create an Impression Band Ring for Jacob for their upcoming intimate wedding. They were such a warm and loving couple and it was a privilege to witness the connection they share as they created these impressions.

Whose Impressions are on your band ring and why are they special?
J: My wife Laura. It’s special because it’s my wedding band, and I love the fact that the symbol of my marriage to my wife has a literal part of her built into it.
L: We created an impression band ring of my fingerprints that Jacob wears as his wedding band. I was drawn to the impression band ring when I first saw it and knew I wanted to create one for Jacob to wear as a wedding ring! The fingerprint adds a personal element that most wedding rings for men don’t include.

What made you want to make this Impression piece?
L: I wanted to do something special for Jacob’s wedding ring because he customised the most beautiful engagement ring for me. I wanted him to have a ring that was equally as beautiful that he would love and wear everyday.
J: My wife saw it and suggested it and I thought it would be unreal to have a unique and creative ring with a part of my wife in it.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
L: We had a micro wedding and enjoyed the intimacy of the day, being surrounded by just our immediate family.
J: It was small and intimate and I loved the intimacy of the day, the food and the 5 star hotel afterwards!

What has been the hardest thing you've found about living apart?
L: We lived apart during our engagement which made the process a little more stressful. I missed having him in Sydney with me to plan our wedding and to just enjoy our time together as an engaged couple. Although it made our limited time together special.
J: My love language is physical touch so the hardest thing for me was probably not being able to hold my wife’s hand or give her a kiss or hug.

How did you find your experience at MECCA making the Impressions?
L: We loved creating the impression piece at MECCA with the team. They made the process really easy and were so patient ensuring we created the perfect piece!
J: I loved it, very nice staff and were very helpful. They let us give the impressions a few go so we could get it exactly how we wanted.
