How did you get into jewellery?

Jewellery has always been a big passion of mine since I was little. I would always get excited when Cookie would come home from a holiday with amazing new rings or necklaces. She definitely passed on her love for jewellery down to Georgie and I. I am blinged out everyday.. if there is such thing as over doing it.. it’s me. Every finger has a different ring and my chest always full of layered pieces i've made and collection over the years.

One of my first jobs was working in a jewellery store in Fitzroy, which only enhanced my passion and love for jewellery. I was working with women that studied at NMIT jewellery engineering courses and straight away I knew it was something I had to do. And here we are!

Where did you study?

I started off at NMIT in Fairfield which is actually now called Melbourne Polytechnic. I loved it from the moment I got there but unfortunately didn't complete the course due to health reasons. Much of what I have learnt to date has been self taught and many techniques I can thank mum and the incredible team of jewellers I have the privilege of working with everyday. I love to learn and will continue to do short courses to further my range of skills. For me, working with stones is next on the agenda and hopefully I have some extra time this year to get creative and explore some new styles!

What is your favourite piece you have ever created?

My favourite piece would be the Threaded Chime Necklace, it is bold but yet so elegant. It would also have to be one of the most time consuming pieces I have made which made it so much more rewarding when it was finally completed.
